Ice-Cream in the winter?

Quote of the Day:

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first."
~Mark Twain

FASHION FINDS

One of my first artists I represented at La Vie En Rose Boutique is Megan Greene of MAGPIE RINGS!

The moment I came across her signature rings I just had to feature them in my boutique! I met Megan for the first time in NYC and not only did I instantly flip over her jewelry, I found her to be one of the most down to earth, and just cooler girls I know!

Her jewelry is creative and most importantly fun! I mean really.... find me a gal who doesn't like flaunting into a room and instantaneously becoming the talk of the party? "Where did she get that ring? It's so cute... I have to have one!" Trust me, wear any one of Megan Greene's jewelry and you will be the most popular lady anywhere you go!

I have tons of the rings myself and wear them to cocktail parties, weddings, pretty much a different ring for every occasion! From pearls to stones, black to purple, spring colors to winter, if you don't have one of these rings yet your missing out! Have some fun and check them out! You can find a bunch of rings and other jewelry by Megan Greene at La Vie En Rose Boutique!

Her rings can be custom made and one of the most popular rings at my boutique is what I call the bridal party ring- pearl ring (pictured: above left)! For custom orders or inquiries please contact La Vie En Rose Boutique!

YUM for the TUM

Ice-cream anyone???

I myself just had myself some Breyers mint chocolate chip ice-cream with hot fudge and chocolate sprinkles! What a way to end the day and wrap up the week!

So I decided to check into the history of Breyers... where and when did it all start?

Apparantly it all started in 1866 by a fella named William A. Breyer (go figure)!

He cranked out his first gallon of the famous ice-cream in Philadelphia, made of rich cream, pure cane sugar, fresh fruit, nuts, and other natural flavors. Some of those ingredi
ants are still found in the ice-cream today! It was quickly considered Philadelphia's best!

1882 came his first retail shop and many more shortly thereafter
1896 the first wholesale manufacturing plant
1908 Henry William's son took over the family biz
By 1918 the company was producing more than a million gallons a year
In 1993 after joining other national companies and being brought out the company was named the Good Humor-Breyers® Ice Cream Company.

Today... it is just simply delicious and continues to be one of my favorites!

So grab yourself a gallon, some hot fudge and sprinkles and end your week with some of America's favorite ice-cream!

BOOKWORM MASTERPIECES

Robert Frost

One of my absolute favorite poets is Robert Frost. I am one of many who have used this poem to guide me throughout many of life's decisions. Forever choosing a path not yet wandered upon or ventured about.

Recently I was researching a bit about the poem and found many articles analyzing the poem. I found this particular analysis quite interesting so take a look: Robert Frost's Tricky Poem. Of course below you will find the actual poem, did you know it is one of the most analyzed and quoted in American Poetry?...

The Road not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I --

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
